Welcome to the Hout Bay Trail Challenge!

The Hout Bay Trail Challenge is an approximately 36 - 40km off road trail race which takes both individual competitors and relay runners on a beautiful yet challenging circular loop of the Hout Bay peaks encapsulating some of the most stunning scenery in the Western Cape

The HBTC has become known as The Challenge. Ryan Sandes, 2009 winner and Ultra marathon Long Distance Runner said "I rate the Hout Bay Challenge as kilometre for kilometre the toughest race in South Africa."
